Frequently asked questions.
Altitude and Acclimatization
Cusco sits at 11,152 ft, so altitude sickness is common. Consider staying in Cusco for a day or heading straight to the lower-altitude Sacred Valley (Urubamba: 9,420 feet) to acclimate. Before your travel and on the arrival day itself, avoid eating too much, drink plenty of water, and avoid alcoholic beverages.
Is Peru safe?
Yes! Peru (especially Cusco and the Sacred Valley) is a well-traveled destination, and the areas where our wedding events will take place are safe and welcoming. As with any international trip, we recommend being mindful of your belongings, using trusted transportation, and following basic travel precautions.
Do you I need a visa to travel to Peru?
Most travelers from the U.S., Canada, and Europe do not need a visa for short stays. A passport valid for at least 6 months is required.
Will transportation be provided?
Yes! Transportation will be provided to and from all the events from the Belmond and Tambo del Inka.
What will the weather be like?
May in the Sacred Valley is mild and pleasant, with sunny days and cooler evenings. Daytime temperatures are typically comfortable, while nights can be chilly, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater.
